What do I need for Band Camp?

Here is a list of things you need to be ready for the first day of band camp

  • Send your housing information to rplc505@nmsu.edu
  • Instrument towel (All members are now required to have instrument towels, make sure it will fit your instrument when placed on the ground)
  • Water
  • Sunscreen/Bug Spray
  • Sports Clothing
  • Instrument (if not renting from NMSU)
  • Phone and charger (extra charger packs recommended)
  • Lunch/Dinner (for days when not provided)

Early Housing Information

In order to attend band camp, the Pride of New Mexico will cover the early housing fee for you to move into your university housing early. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Fill out the Early Arrival Application that is currently available to you in your MyHousing portal under applications/forms. When you are filling out the application, please select “band” as the group and “university sponsored event” for the reason, along with the correct move in date according to your status (leadership, rookies or veterans).  Your date will either be August 11th (Leadership), August 12th (Rookies), or August 14th (Vets).
  2. Email our lovely administrative assistant, Trista Pior, your housing assignment along with your FULL NAME AND AGGIE ID.  Her email is rplc505@nmsu.edu 
  3. Wait for further instructions. 

* If you are moving in before your assigned day, you will have to pay for the additional days 

Band Fee Information (Subject to Change)

While you get a band grant for being a part of the Pride of New Mexico, we will collect a small fee in order to pay for your uniform items; all purchased items you get to keep. Once paid, this fee is non-refundable. Fee's may differ for drumline, guard, folklorico, and sundancers.

Rookies and Vets ($75)

Rookies: you must pay the full fee since you must have all of the required uniform items. You can pay this fee with the following methods:

  • Cash
  • Check (NMSU Bands)
  • eMarket

Vets: you can charge this fee to your student account or use the options listed above.

This fee will provide you with the following uniform items, all of which will be needed throughout the season:

  • Band Hat
  • Band Shirt
  • Band Shorts
  • Anorak
  • Compression Shirt
  • Water Bottle
  • Cowbell
  • eFlip
  • Shoes
  • Gloves

This fee does NOT include the instrument rental fee which would be an additional $100.
