Audition Process:

All video content towards choreography, technique, and audition materials for you to learn over the course of the summer to be considered for the Pride of New Mexico Color Guard has been uploaded above. There will also be clinics held throughout the summer to help clarify the material and assist in developing your skills in regards to the audition material. To find out more information you can go to the Guard Band app to find the Zoom links or contact your squad leaders.

Please submit (using the form above) a link to a YouTube video of yourself completing these videos every two weeks for your audition. Again, these videos are your audition, so make sure they are reflective of your best work.

Every two weeks you will complete a submission of the corresponding segment, this should give you plenty of time to complete and not overwhelm you to complete submissions.

Due dates for each video

Segment 1

  • Due: Saturday June 19th

Segment 2

  • Due: Saturday July 3rd

Segment 3 /Rifle Part 1 (if interested in rifle)

  • Due: Saturday July 17th

Segment 4/ Rifle Part 2 (if interested in rifle)

  • Due: Saturday July 31st

Final Audition Material

  • Final Submission Due: Friday August 6th
  • Friday August 6th your own choreography video is due.
    • Must consist of 3 16 counts of choreography.

HOW DO I JOIN

  1. Step #1 is to contact our NMSU Guard Coordinator, Bailey Frietze at baileyrf@nmsu.edu
  2. Fill out the application at the following link to ensure you are considered for a band grant: Pride 2021 Application
  3. Clinic Dates

      • Wednesday June 16th, 2021 6:00pm – 8:00pm
      • Saturday June 26th, 2021 8:00am – 5:00pm (Guard Camp)
      • Saturday July 10th, 2021 8:00am – 5:00pm (Guard Camp)
      • Saturday July 24th, 2021 8:00am – 5:00pm (Guard Camp)
    • ZoomWednesday June 30th, 2021 @6:00 pm
      • Wednesday July 14th, 2021 @6:00 pm
      • Wednesday August 4th, 2021 @6:00 pm
  4. The in-person camps are to get contact time and practice with the Color Guard towards the audition. The
    Zoom Clinics are not mandatory and only serve to instruct, tutor or clarify choreography and act as a platform to engage the guard students that are unable to attend the In-Person clinics.
